The addition of Google+ to the social networking marketplace means we’ve seen a huge increase in social sharing WordPress plugins and updates. Some older plugins, like Sexy Bookmarks, have just added a Google+ button to their current services. But there are a few interesting ones worth looking at.
Social Media Mashup
Social Media Mashup adds a little stream to your website or blog, with updates from your chosen RSS feeds and social media accounts. So you can have your latest Google+, Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and YouTube updates showing, alongside your latest blog post. It’s a great way to give visitors a quick snapshot of what you’re talking about elsewhere.
Googlecards is simple enough: it creates a Google+ profile card for your website, so visitors can connect with you quickly and see how many connections you’ve racked up.
This one’s not new, but it has recently had a Google+ update – and a lot of people seem to prefer the social toolbars that sit along the bottom of a website. This one allows you to share quickly without scrolling up and down the page. WP Social Toolbar also displays all sorts of different social info.
And one for Chrome
This Chrome extension adds share buttons on Twitter, Facebook and Google+, so you can share to multiple social media accounts whatever site you’re on.
