About us
ItsOpen is a specialist social media strategy and strategy implementation consultancy.
We help companies to engage with the ‘social web’. We specialise in the development of social media policies.
We aim to help brands open up to social media so they can engage more successfully with their customers and stakeholders; employees and partners. Based in Brighton, ItsOpen was founded by Justin Hunt who used to be a new media commentator for The Guardian newspaper, writing for Guardian Online. Justin has also written online content for Amazon; and reported on social media for The Financial Times. He now writes a blog about social media issues, called ‘Bloggerati’, for the UK’s media industry publication, Media Week.
ItsOpen are shareholders in the UK blog publishing company Shiny Media which has run campaigns with a range of leading companies including Sony, Gillette, Nokia, and Marks and Spencer.
Why It’s Open?
Our name, ItsOpen, reflects the fact that the web is becoming increasingly more open (practically anyone can now use new social media tools to create blogs, publish their views, make and share videos, swap photos, rate products and services, and vote on content)
We wish to encourage and help organisations and their brands to understand and open up to social media so they can engage successfully with their customers and stakeholders; employees and partners in this new fast-moving environment where personal relationships and conversations are key. Social media technologies can increase business productivity, stimulate greater innovation and create stronger connections between employees, partners and customers.
We are also open to working with other specialist partners to ensure that we remain innovative. We are not a ‘walled garden’ consultancy and we don’t aim to lock our clients into one fixed in-house team but collaborate regularly with a team of partners.
