For all Twitter’s enormous popularity, businesses have yet to catch on, says a new survey by Webtrends.
Only 2% of 300 UK and other European companies with more than 250 employees have embraced it, the survey found. That’s significantly less than the 6% that are using blogs and podcasts, not to mention proven internet approaches such as forums, search optimisation and advertising.
Clearly businesses have yet to figure out how to use Twitter, what to say, or even what audience to address. The potential is there, though, and it will be interesting to see if the figure starts to rise over the next few months.
